Make a difference for Ben!

Ben Thompson, a victim of assault, is a 23 year old who now lives in a nursing home. Ben's family and friends are trying to raise $25,000 to keep up Ben's intensive speech, occupational and physiotherapy.

To this end, a benefit gig will be taking place at St Kilda's famed Esplanade Hotel, on September 11th, featuring some of Melbourne's best up and coming musical talent (including I Am Spartacus, The Advocates, Tim McMillan, Jason Cadd and the Gallows, The Gabriel Lynch Band and Zeptepi).

Tickets will be $15 at the door, and the door will be opening at 7.30pm!

Benefit For Ben has an LJ community. If you want to come to gig, want to help, or just want to express support, please join!

Summary
The clip to 'Vertigo' pays homage to the world of David Lynch's 'Twin Peaks'.
Best enjoyed with coffee and cherry pie.

Directors Bio
Jason Chave currently burns spare time freelancing video/animation work.
Everything from title intro's for a Channel 31 show to bad head explosion effects for
'In Syberia Tonight' and most recently the videoclip for The Five Venoms, 'The Doorway'.

Fabrik is holding a fundraiser for Queer Collaboration on the 25th [06 Oct 2007|07:36pm]

A FREAK SHOW? HOW QUEER!

Fabrik- straight friendly queer night
Roxanne Parlour
@ 2 Coverlid Place
Thursday 25th October
(Last Thur of each month)
9-3am
www.myspace.com/fabrik_aus

Roll up, roll up to see the weirdest shit you'll find in the civilised world! Fabrik are having a Carnival Freak Show Party on 25th October. Are you a freak? No? Well dress up and no one will know you for the boring, vanilla flavoured dork that you are. We'll be on display at Roxanne Parlour, lurching to the twisted sounds of Carry_TheZero, Post-Percy and Skirtchaser (Midnight Juggernaught set). This is a very special Fabrik as it's also a fundraiser for Queer Collaborations 2008. QC is a highly important event where queer departments from around Australia come together to discuss queer politics and policy. Under VSU unions are straining to keep it going. So the good folks at Fabrik will be donating half the proceeds from the night to this wonderful event, to be held in our fine city of Melbourne next year. So don your hippest freak attire and come down to place yourself on display and support a good cause at the same time!

Spring with a Fling! [24 Sep 2007|11:22pm]

Fabrik
Straight Friendly Queer Night
Roxanne Parlour, 2 Coverlid Pl.
27th Sept- this Thursday!
9pm-3am

By golly, gee wiz and all that other shit! Fabrik are having a spring fling for their second event! Mary-Sue is ironing her favourite frock, George is saving all his allowance to pay for the limozine and parents everywhere are hoping that 'that little problem' will be cured by needlecraft and team sports. Alas, in a violent attempt at destroying heteronormativity, the nuclear family and society at large, delegates of the international queer conspiracy will descend upon Roxanne Parlour on the 27th of September. We'll be bopping to all the swell sounds of … Have you got a date yet? No? Well good, dates are sexist and we don't like that shit at Fabrik. So pull out your Sunday best, polish your shoes, down a milkshake at the local diner and (when you're finished) come along to the swellest event to rock the block since you realised you can't get pregnant from holding someone's hand!
